THE STORIES
23 December 2007
Ichiban Boshi @ Novena Sq/ 18 Dec FIRST eating experience at Ichiban Boshi. We had lunch there. Someone gave us a treat. haa. We had so much that we got to still stuff ourselves with the remaining and untouched food. I think we actually ordered too much for 3 pax. I had lots of Sashimi(s) that day. I love Sashimi. No doubt. But I had too much that I almost felt like throwing up. Seriously. Whats' more? I had like, two Avocado Salmon hand-roll, an entire Salmon set all to myself and lots'a Salmon Sashimi(s). We had "peach momo" for dessert. its actually an ice-cream. shaped like a peach with a rocher in the core. its tastes really great. we dare not eat the rocher cos of the leak on rocher(s) having worms in them. Urgh... We 'ta bao(ed)' some peanut mochi(s) back to office for everyone. the mochi skin was fabulous. damn soft. but ain't chewy or how certain people would describe it as not 'Q' enough.
The RiceTable @ International Building, Orchard/ 19 Dec Met up with Glenn, Joanna and Peiyi. It had been quite a long while not seeing them. Its a nice meet up for dinner. Were at The RiceTable. An Indonesian Restaurant. First time dinning at The RiceTable. haa. So many FIRST times. We were served 20 small portions of each individual dishes altogether. The portions were meant for 4 pax(es). So was just nice for all of us. I love the Food. I love their curry gravies. Their curry tastes more or less like those thai green curries. Nice! I was aiming for their Kangkongs. Sss..picy Kankongs.. my favourite. Joanna and I were like Kio'in the most. I also Kio(ed) most of the Fruit Salad. Sweet and Sourish. Shiok! The dinner worked in a way that they will serve you all 20 dishes for the 1st round and you can subsequently request for refill for any dish you hadn't had your fill on. Its a Dinner buffet that we are having. Don't worry.. Their food were not bad afterall. Should give it a try. Then there was this small crockroach that appeared all of a sudden. Was crawling on Joanna and she flicked it towards the table. And it fell on its back struggling to get back up. Funny. The Roach met its end when we told the waiter to come over to witness and to get it off the table.
Leisure Park @ Kallang/ 20 Dec Yea! Hari Raya Haji! Public Holiday! Headed for Leisure Park that early morning. Was having a light downpour. The weather didn't turned my day blue. I was indeed feeling so much excited that I finally got my day at Leisure Park. It would be my First time there. haa. Of course excited la.. We shared the cost for the cab fare there. 4 dollars for 4 person = 1 dollar per person. Not all shops were ready and opened. Wasn't that gigantic a place as well. We went to Kbox first for Klunch session. I had Salmon Bento. Salmon again... And the damn thing was that the staff kept on saying 'last song' when it was not even 2pm yet and wanting us to get out of the damn room and repeatedly came back in and told us for 4 or 5 times. Sick! Yes! we exceeded the time by a couple of minutes. But whats the hurry? Can't we stay a little longer? Its not like there are tons of people waiting to occupy our room rite?...
Should have gone Ice-Skating next. But to skip the Ice-Resurfacing work at 4pm, we decided to go back later. Window shopped a little around the mall. We each had SnowIce. 'Xue Hua Bin' in chinese. It was my 1st try on them. Tastes real nice. Back at Ice-Skating. We were outside the Ticketing counter waiting. Cos' we thought we were still early at around 4pm and the Resurfacing work had just started. At that actual moment, I was experiencing a sharp pain in my upper abdomen all of a sudden. I got to bent my body slightly to ease the pain a little. I thought it would go away pretty soon, so I din pay much attention to it and endured with the pain. They don't accept nets or credit cards at Ice-Skating. All got to dig for CASH which were soon depleting. Soon after we've gotten in the stadium, gone to get our skates with the attitude uncle issuing the skates. Rotten Luck. Shit Him! I saw our tickets lying on the skates counter and I thought one of us would take the initiative to collect it and keep it to exit the stadium later. Was my 2nd try on Ice-Skating. I think I was better off this time round. I'm able to skate more swiftly and at a higher speed. I had my worst abrasions on both of my feet and ankles. 2hrs of Skating was really enough for me to bear the pain caused by the abrasions. Searched around for our tickets for exit. None of us actually have them. Fortunately the staff at the Skates counter passed it over to the Ticketing counter. We found it there. Phew.. couldn't imagine we each got to fork out 20bucks as a penalty for lost of tickets.
My abdominal pain prolonged. Ouch! Pasta mania for Dinner. I had Alfredo. Quite nice but get rather sick of it towards the end. Too creamy. I guess I won't frequent Pasta Mania for Dinner ever again. But I must say that their Potato salad was really delicious. My only favourite... We left with limited amount of Cash on us during that hour. There were no ATMs in the mall. Sad. We even talked about having Tao Hway at Geylang.
But trying their new bowling alleys and facilities won our hearts over. We went for bowling games after dinner. Again we got to pay in advance before our game but they ONLY accpet CASH! We hardly have got any Cash left after paying for it. We even got to borrow or owe each other in order to come out with the right amount. The feeling of having no money and going almost similar to declaring bankrupt sucks! Insecurity filled our hearts. Good games at the bowling centre. You can even customise the look of the score monitor by choosing from a range of default designs. Their new bowling balls has got much more sizes for the fingers. X-Small, medium, large, you name it. Was a whole new bowling experience for us.
Feeling thirsty? We went to cold storage to get ourselves a drink each. Again. Money issue. We all kept on digging for coins to pay for our drinks which seemed so important and precious to us. I got myself a small pack of Marigold Fresh Milk cos' I thought it would at least help ease the pain in my stomach. Cos Milk can calm and neutralise acids in stomach?? And we don't even dare to take those which were way out of our very tight small budget. Haa.. Poor us... We eventually went down from Notes at first to coins in the end. Sense of Emptyness filled our hearts.
Took bus No. 11 back to kallang station and from there Home Sweet Home for the day with Stomach pain thats killing me... I didn't inform my family about my situation. During that night, I couldn't sleep. I was tossing and turning in bed, feeling extremely uncomfortable. The increasing pain in my abdominal was almost unbearable. I woked up a few times holding on to my stomach. Tried pressing inwards to reduce the pain but never worked. I even went to work as per normal the following Friday morning.
Doctor Visit @ TTSH/ 21 Dec I couldn't really work and was feeling seriously unwell. I don't feel like eating, walking and speaking much. I felt that my lips were dry and I've got a pale look on my face. But I still have got the energy, not feeling weakened. I ever thought of taking panadol that morning but I think it won't work for my case which seemingly wasn't the cause of a common tummyache. I could sense that its a more serious case. I went to see a doctor at TTSH after work that day as I think I should not leave my condition unattended. It could be a serious case and might deteriorate quickly. At the walk-in clinic, I saw a doctor who advised that I was diagnosed with having gastric. Too much acid was produced in my stomach. Probable cause was having too much spicy and sourish food. Must be the day I dined at The RiceTable two days before plus so many other food I had eaten over the days. All the oily stuffs, cold stuffs, KFCs, Korean Kimchis, Sashimi, Pasta, pomegranate, sourish fruits, etc... Haix... I think I have got a sensitive stomach. I can't take food items which are too hot and spicy. And allergic to certain marinates or spices. Cos' whenever I eat KFC chickens, Curry Flavoured Maggie Mee and Ajisen ramen, I will definitely have diarrhea the following day. 100% CONFIRM! Yup. Still under medications. Shan't take junk food. haha.. Still having pain in my stomach.. Hope it will heal soon. Don't wish anything bad will happen. You people take care too... =)
