THE STORIES
18 December 2007
And now the many First(s) in December.
Soba @ Sushi Tei on 11 Dec I had my FIRST tastes of Soba at Sushi-Tei. They call it the "Cold Noodles". "Ehh.. Not bad" I thought. once and twice.. alrite.. quite nice. but the 3rd try was not so good. I guess I still can't adapt to the taste and to get it down my throat on another attempt. Probably the sauce for the dip was the cause. I don't know the name of that cold brown soy sauce-like in that bowl. In fact I just don't know what's with it! I just can't take its taste. I saw the chef in the kitchen through the glass panel. He was preparing Soba and he poured the pre-prepared solution from a big bottle into a bowl for the dip. Urgh!! Or... "Was it the Noodle itself the cause?" The color of the Soba I ate was like in 'dark grey'?? I thought it was supposed to be green? You ask if I would want to eat that again? My answer is a definite NO! Please! Not again!!...
Cable Car Ride @ HabourFront tower 2/Mount Faber on 14 Dec Whee... Yeah... My soul got carried away while we were up at the Mount. It was SO FUN!! We started off at HarbourFront Tower 2. Bought a Return-Trip ticket for the Cable Car Ride. It was my FIRST time ever, taking a Cable Car. The thing I had always been wanting to do, to go for a Cable Car Ride. Yeah! I was feeling really happy then. I can't simply express the Joy in me . Was late evening. So what we saw at the bottom was pitch dark and vague profile of the trees and buldings under our feet. Across the wide span was the beautiful scenery that draws close to your sight. Cool breeze from the top. Whoo.. Shiok ar! Taking Cable Car feels just like taking MRT, which I thought. I was trying to stay REAL calm and enjoy the Ride. One of my colleague was like screaming mad. Its a lady. And you know what? The thing that freaks you was YOU feeling the Cabin shaking...
Chilled out at The Altivo Bar at the Mount. or should I say the Jewel Box?? Think that should describe it as a whole. I had "Walking on the beach" for my drink. It has got peach schnapps. Another tropica' haha.. accompanying folks had their own likings which were cosmopolitan, seabreeze, grasshopper & snowfizz on the table. We certainly enjoyed ourselves. Each and Everyone! No kidding. It was as if we all had been turned into little kids in fairyland. There were snowfall, or rather "Foams". FUN! The artificial christmas tree that stands at 61m completely covered with LED lights was one of the wonders up the Mount. which was also one reason for our presence. The Air was so Fresh up there. We took a little walk down the slope to take a closer glance at the 61m tall tree, but they stopped the lightings for a short break. couldn't wait till its next lightings at 11:15pm. we got to get down the Mount. early for the Train service. Sad... However, the Trip was one heart fulfilling experience. We all LOVE it. Each of us revealed our inner feelings through our expressions which were all so True that very evening. Just overjoyed that evening. Shall post pics later.
Ice-Skating @ Fuji Ice Palace on 15 Dec Had my FIRST Ice-skating experience. was really having FUN that I wouldn't want to leave. There were 4 of us. So its cheaper and more worth to go with their package that admits 4 at a cost of $58.80 in total and includes the cost of skates rental and whats more? you get to skate the entire day. Weren't too comfortable with the pair of skates. We had to take a rest in certain time intervals. Cos' the feet can't take the stress your body is putting on and your feet does hurt. Your entire mass was just supported and balanced by two piece of metal blades. Just imagine. Some advised that you should tie the laces as tight as possible to avoid movements of your feet in the skates so you don't feel the pain. But you hardly can wriggle your toes once you put on the skates. Movements were entirely restricted. Hate that! Anyway my first experience does tells me something:-
Notes 1. Bring extra pair of socks as the one you wear for skating will get wet and dirty. 2. Wear those socks that is thick and long enough to protect your ankles and claves. (The purpose is to prevent abrasions which can be serious. Very Important.) 3. Bring good quality gloves. 4. Bring jacket(optional) if you do not fear coldness.
It gets very frustrating when the stadium got so packed with people. Before I forgot. Michelle would love to see this. I met Michelle at the Ice-skating stadium. She was carefully taking her little steps on the ice. Thats really cute. haa. Michelle wants me to mention her name in here cos' she requested that I must do so. Was a long time since I last saw her. Really surprised and coincidental to see her there. Happy to see you Michelle! I didn't quite get my skating skills right this time round. but at least I could still skate for some distance and I didn't actually fell a single time that day. Was a good news for a novice myself.
X'mas Party!! @ Suwee's house on 15 Dec evening And that evening after the Ice-skating session I rushed down to meet Eugene and Jeremy and headed down to ah wee's house. There was this X'mas Party waiting for everyone. It was actually my very FIRST in my life to seriously celebrate christmas. And in a way with huge crowd of friends like almost 20 of us were in that house, good food that has a big Turkey, Salads, cookies, sanwiches, desserts, fruits, etc. Other than just indulging in great food we also had games, watching Ice-Age 2 DVD(was pretty nice and hilarious, should have caught them in the theatres. LOL.) and gift exchanged. Coincidentally, I'd gotten the present ah wee bought and ah wee had gotten eugene's. haa! It was a very lively event of the year. So much chit-chattings. So much laughters and Fun. And really had a great time playing with his two cute little dogs.
Wedding Dinner @ The Fullerton Hotel on 16 Dec He was my supervisor cum boss in Orchard Hotel Singapore back the past two years, where I had my poly internship under him. He's a very friendly and kind man. I felt indeed Happy for his marriage. Was actually looking forward to this big day before he ever announced the news that he's getting married. He even got me on the phone to ask for my residential address so that he could send me the invitation. How nice... I remembered I was at the Zoo looking at squirrels when I received his call the last time. LOL..
Was my FIRST time attending someone's wedding dinner alone and of some friend's and not of my relatives'. Was also my wish to have a chance of stepping into Fullerton Hotel. So it was my FIRST time there. The interior was indeed posh. Shall experience a night's stay in their hotel suite one day. ONE DAY... hahaha. Never expect to see so many of my ex-colleagues I'd worked with in Orchard Hotel. Its been two years. Some had already given birth. One was pregnant. Some has gone to work in another firm or another Hotel, etc. Wow.. really love to see them all. Almost forgot all of their names. haa.. There were good food, brilliant live band and vocalists, a DVD montage on the morning ceremony of the bride and groom, a toast with just the new way of saying 'Cheers' to the bride and groom instead of those very loud YIAM~~~ SENG~~~!! haha. And there was also a LOVE confession from the bride to the groom and the groom to the bride. It was more like making a solemn vow for each other witnessed by so many guests. The touching moment of the day man.. Simple words expressed their feelings and brought out much sincerity. The words used were so sweet and truly brought out the great affections between the couple. "Sincerely congrats and Happy New Weds to Nicolas and his Wife."
